New CIM Level 3 – Foundation Certificate in Marketing


Below you will find the syllabus documents effective from September 2014 for the New CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Marketing qualification. The first assessments for this will be December 2014:

Marketing Principles

Unit 1:   Discovering Marketing
Unit 2:   The Marketing Environment
Unit 3:   Marketing Mix

Customer Communications

Unit 1:   Who are customers
Unit 2:   Communicating with Customers
Unit 3:   Creating a Marketing Communications Campaign

Elements covered in this course include;
- Understand the function of marketing and its role in an organisation
- Know about the 7Ps (product, price, place, promotion, people, process and physical evidence) and how to apply the marketing mix
- Understand more about customers and managing customer relationships
- Be able to communicate to both internal and external customers using a variety of different means

You will learn in a classroom environment where you will not only be taught by highly experienced lecturers you will also have the opportunity to meet and work with new people.

Entry Requirements    

This course is ideal for:

- Those undertaking junior marketing, secretarial or administrative roles.

- People on the periphery of marketing

- Event management assistants

- Personal assistants

- Non-marketers with some marketing involvement

- Customer service assistants / call centre employees

Assessment   
On successfully completing this course you will receive a certificate from CIM as ‘CIM Introductory Certificate in Marketing’.

The assessment on this course is carried out by undertaking an on-line exam on What is Marketing and completing an assignment on Understanding Customer Relationships.

Progression   
Upon successful completion of the course you will achieve: CIM Introductory Certificate in Marketing

At Work:
You may progress onto roles within the marketing or events management professions.
